Aaron Reid's Ready to Take Over Youth Culture
I had a chance to speak with Aaron Reid today...son of super producer LA Reid and Pebbles. It's been 3 years since we've seen Aaron on MTV's My Super Sweet 16-where his birthday party was held at Jay-Z's famed club 40/40. Attendees included "Diddy" and a surprise performance by Kanye West.
One would expect the son of two music stars to end up being spoiled rotten after having such a blinged out bash, after all he was only 16 and the world was at his disposal. However, Aaron has turned out to be a teen-ager on a mission.
Now, at the age of 19 he has started a business-- Young Entreprenuers Empowerment Circle (YEEC) with his two business partners Jason Johnson & James Smith. Together they plan to "help today's youth become tomorrow's successful leaders," says Aaron and continues. "We want to unite to become an influential agent for social change amongst the youth." They even have a film festival in the works!
Their social stage kicks off with the Atlanta debut of "HELLO WORLD," an exclusive lounge series dubbed "The Reid Experience" which is a platform for young artists to showcase their talent. They plan to hit 5 markets after their Atlanta debut.
"Hello World" is catered towards the next generation of actors, producers, entrepreneurs, performers and youth on a mission to have their voices heard. "We will come together as a coalition and start a movement...a young, Andy Warhol movement..." Says Aaron. Artists who have joined the movement include superstar kids; Teyanna Taylor, Quincy Brown, Rich Hill (son of Tommy Hillfiger), The Simmons clan (Angela, Vanessa & Jo Jo) and more. Get ready world because here they come!
