Kidz in the Hall, Jim Jones on Broadway and Oh So Naughty...
Spring is coming in New York, which means that my schedule is getting packed and I'm trying to keep up! First up...I got word that Kidz in the Hall was performing at the Footlocker in NYC for the launch of Reebok's Classic Remix Collection.
I was excited to see them because I was told that I was selected to receive a pair. I'm an Adidas girl, but you say "free" and I'm there! To my surprise, I like the candy coated kicks. Reebok has always been known for its classic sneaker, but even classics need a remix, so they decided to partner with some of hip-hops most eclectic and diverse artists to re-interpret the music of "Back in da Day."
Kidz in the Hall is the first to join them on their quest to launch the cool kicks and their rendition of Special Ed's "I Got it Made." I found myself bopping along to the lyrics and laid back beat... "I'm kinda spoiled cuz everything I want got made, I wanted shoes got every single pump they made, Got Dee Brown's that make you chumps search ebay, Got 360 waves that's spinnin' around my fade..." They spit the chorus and I moved on to the next event with the jingle in my head.
"Hollywood Lights, Fancy Cars, Step on red carpets and they know who we are Oh yea...Don't it feel good playing for this team, been around the world and we living our dream..." Check out the world premiere video here: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=54168422
On tomorrow's list I head to the Sony Building to check out "This is Jim Jones" - A documentary film chronicling the rise of the rapper turned Diplomat. I will tell you all about the doc next week after I see his play-yes, Jim Jones is also making his encore stage debut for Hip-Hop Monologues: Inside the Life & Mind of Jim Jones (An off-Broadway play set to the new album Pray IV Reign ). I've never checked for Jim Jones before, but at least he's getting creative!
However, I'm not too sure about "Na Na Nana Na Na..." Check out the monologue video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScxVlkRDh-Q&feature=channel_page Yoooooooo, he had the Countess there! What do you know about the Desperate Housewives of New York? She's my favorite one... The show returns to the stage by popular demand and opens to the public for only week only!
