Exclusive Tough Love Party at New Hot Spot

I just finished eating for the first time today and I actually sat down to do it! You'll find that being in an industry of entertainment, that eating on the go, is the norm and today I had a series of meetings, contract to sign and a cocktail party which starts in a ½ hour.

I'm excited to check out VH-1's invite only meet in greet with a few cast mates of their new reality show "Tough Love," simply because a friend of mine is on the show LOL! Abiola is one of the few women chosen to go through an intensive "Gain Mr. Right" course, through a process of self discovery and healing. I'm not a big fan of reality shows but I will support a friend.

I met Abiola during the taping of a BET J's Best Shorts Episode. She is the former host and I was there to introduce my short film Yellow on the show. We hit if off right away. Later that year, Abiola would present me with my very first film award at the 5th Annual Hip Hop International Film Festival, where Yellow was chosen as the best short narrative. Now, here I am rushing to the meet and greet to say hello and see if I can get a scoop LOL!

First scoop is the new hot spot-which New York City loves. This place in particular I hear is hidden and that the street can be mistaken for an alley. I was told that even when you get there, the actual location is hard to find considering it looks like an abandoned Chines Food Take Out spot. However, inside is like a palace. It made me reminisce on Box, which is another hidden gem on the otherside of town. The only reason I star trekked there was for the launch party of Virgin Airways in honor of founder Sir Richard Bronson. You have to go through a family of rats to get there (I know, that's disgusting-but hey, it's New York!). However, when you get inside, it feels as if you're in the most exquisite jewelry box for humans! I have a feeling this new place probably evokes the same surprise. I'll tell you all about it later.
