Inside the Obsessed Red Carpet with Beyonce, Ali Larter and Idris
BeyonceIt was still daylight when Ali Larter stepped onto the carpet. The first out of the treo in the film Obsessed starring Beyonce, Idris Elba and Jerry o’Connell.
The crowd roared from the streets. Cars honked for the onlookers to get going, holding up traffic to get a glimpse of the polished stars.
The red carpet was filled with photographers flashing lights, AJ of Extra, TV Guide, AP Press and me! I was nestled between the Daily News and another guy who was complaining about video being mixed in with the tape recorder journalists.
However, I had no time for complaints or to listen, I was too busy focusing on my questions for the eve. While others were asking “what you place on your hot dog and hamburger, I had to find something and stick with it!
My guy and I were ready…camera in tow, and my mic in my hand. First up: Jessica White, who’s been holding down the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue for a minute and also the first African American model to nail 2 exclusive make-up contracts.
She stepped in front of us for her camera style shot and then it hit me… “Do you have any obsessive behaviors and if so what are they?”
After that question, a laugh erupted from everyone who stepped up to my mic. Ms. White of course was a neat freak…while Russell Simmons admitted to never skipping yoga.
Mama Knowles agreed the obsessive behavior of both Beyonce and Solange was work…and hers…work LOL!
One after the other, the carpet began to appear as if it were bulging with people….The Director, Steve Shill, Producer Will Packer, BJ Coleman with his new client Kim Kardashian, Director, Lee Daniels and then…the rumble in the concrete jungle…B had arrived.
The buzz made it to my end and camera men rushed to get the shot of her posing pretty for the cameras. Beyonce floated onto the carpet appearing in a strapless Balain ensemble of black sequence and a ruffled train. On her nails she rocked the new Minx nails pasties in metallic…instead of polish.
When she finally made her way to me…I saw that Idris Elba was gaining in, waiting patiently as the ladies went first.
After the journalist beside me wrapped, out of nowhere came a man toting his camera on a stick…
“Beyonce, tell us how you get so fly!?”
Both of us looked, took a dip to the right and said “oooooh.” It was classic. Yet, she answered him politely as I tried so desperately to hold in my laughter.
Finally I was up…she admitted her Obsessive behaviors were the two new TV Shows Brave New Voices and The No. 1 Ladie’s Detective Agency starring Jill Scott and Anika Noni-Rose; her Dreamgirls cast mate.
After speaking for a few moments, Idris approached, yet admitted that his obsessive behaviors are best kept secret. Hmmmmm? Wonder what that could be.
